D1 Squad traveled to Tampa and played rival Tampa Krewe in the USF Track and Field stadium under the lights.  NORFC controlled the action in a physical match that saw the road team win 34-6 in a South pool match.

The NORFC Green Squad traveled to Tallahassee with 16 men and took a 37-17 victory.  David Buckingham, Brad Guarisco, Jeff Ahlmeyer, and Tony Breaux scored tries.  Brad Guarisco had a perfect day with his boot, converting all 4 tries, and adding 3 penalty kicks.

NORFC is done for the Fall.  We'll continue to train and get ready for the Spring season, which starts early with a long road trip to Boca Raton on 1/21/12.

Weekend Results - 11/12/11
Another great weekend for New Orleans Rugby:

D1 Squad hosted Boca Raton at home in a South pool match and won 62-11.  A strong second half performance opened the game up after a tight 20-8 first half.

The NORFC Green Squad traveled to Mobile to participate in the 33th annual Battleship Memorial Rugby Tournament.  On the first day, NORFC notched wins over Miami RFC (26-10) and Okaloosa/Pensacola (37-7).  On Sunday, New Orleans took on Baton Rouge and pitched a shutout (22-0) to claim the Bell for the 2nd consecutive year.

Next Up on 11/19:
D1 Gold Side travels to Tampa to face the Tampa Krewe Rugby club.  Gametime will be 7pm eastern at the USF Track&Field Stadium.

D3 Green squad opens up Deep South Pool play with a road trip to Tallahassee.

Join us for a great day of rugby this Saturday, 10/22/11

Fresh from a pair of significant wins last weekend, the NORFC will boot up at home on Saturday Oct. 22nd to take on the Houston Athletic Rugby Club (HARC), beginning at 2 p.m. at the Gretna Pitch.

The match will be a homecoming of sorts for the NORFC after its dramatic debut win at the D1 level over Atlanta, so the club would like to see plenty of supporters out cheering them on. Come spend some time with your National Championship rugby club as it rises to the next challenge, and then come raise a glass with us and the HARC boys at the post-match social at the Rugby Pub.

HARC is bringing its D1 squad to town for what’s shaping up to be a bit of a rematch from last fall, when New Orleans traveled to Houston and lost to the home team. NORFC players are very interested in balancing that ledger, so the game promises to be an exciting non-league D1 level match up.

The game will also include an additional period for D3 Green players, giving supporters a chance to see the growing depth of talent on the NORFC roster. Last weekend, the D3 squad chalked up a dominating 63-15 win over the club's old D2 rival, Baton Rouge.

It should be a great day of rugby in New Orleans, so come on out and join the action.

2011-2012 D1 Season gets underway
Big weekend of rugby on tap.  NORFC's freshly promoted D1 side travels to Atlanta to take on the defending South D1 champion Renegades Saturday night at 6pm eastern at Atlanta Silverbacks Park.

Meanwhile, the Green side will host Baton Rouge in a friendly at 12 noon.  Please come out and watch what should be a great game.
